What are RO antiscalants?
Antiscalants are chemical compounds that are added to water treatment processes to prevent the formation of scale, which is a buildup of minerals and other contaminants on Reverse osmosis (RO membranes).
Types of RO antiscalants:
Inorganic antiscalants are based on compounds such as polyphosphates, phosphonates, and silicates. These compounds work by forming a layer on the surface of the RO membranes that prevents the minerals in the water from sticking to them.
Organic antiscalants are based on compounds such as polyacrylic acids and carboxylic acids. These compounds work by chelating the minerals in the water, which means binding to them and preventing them from forming a solid layer.
Inorganic antiscalants are generally more effective than organic antiscalants, but they can also be more corrosive to the RO membranes. Organic antiscalants are less effective than inorganic antiscalants, but they are also less corrosive
Why use antiscalants?
Antiscalants are used in water treatment systems for various reasons, including:
-
Reducing the frequency of membrane cleaning required in reverse osmosis (RO) systems
-
Preventing the formation of scale in boilers, cooling towers, and other industrial equipment
-
Improving the efficiency of water treatment systems by reducing downtime and maintenance costs
-
Improving water quality and reducing the risk of contamination in industrial processes
What is RO membrane cleaning chemicals?
RO cleaning chemicals are used to remove scaling and fouling that has already occurred on the membrane. Cleaning chemicals work by dissolving the scale or fouling, or by physically removing it from the membrane.
Types of RO membrane cleaning chemicals
Acidic cleaners are used to remove scale deposits from RO membranes. They work by dissolving the scale deposits. Acidic cleaners are typically used for cleaning RO membranes that have been fouled by calcium carbonate, magnesium carbonate, or iron oxide.
Alkaline cleaners are used to remove organic matter deposits from RO membranes. They work by breaking down the organic matter deposits. Alkaline cleaners are typically used for cleaning RO membranes that have been fouled by bacteria, algae, or mold.
Tyre mounting chemical (Lubisil-710)
Lubisil-710 is a vegetable oil-based, neutral liquid soap solution used for mounting tyres on their respective rims. Our solution is a cheaper option than the silicone-based lubricant used for mounting tyres. The said solution does not affect the rubber quality of the tyres, do not strip off paint/electroplating from the painted/electroplated rims and do not corrode the steel of the rims.
